I find that it's almost like working on two paintings- the loon and her background.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003eOn this piece, I created a sort of rough draft background of trees and a sunset. But when the sky started to look like pea soup, I stepped away, gave it a breather. And when I came back, I realized those pine trees looked more like a city skyline. So I went with it!\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003eSometimes the painting tells you what it wants to be. This loon wanted to swim on a city lake. White mat takes it up to an even 5\"x7\"- easy to pop in a frame. \u003cspan\u003eAcrylic paint and a little chalk pastel on high quality, 140 lb. watercolor paper.
