"Hanging On 2"

It is hardly an exaggeration to say that every Minnesotan loves fall. And the dog days of summer are where we find ourselves. Days are shorter, nights are cooler, but the afternoon heat is hanging on, and summer seems reluctant to let go. But the fall blooms are aggressively taking over, with sunflowers at the forefront. And the wild, unruly greens of late summer are edging toward brown, giving way to the new season.

Such a metaphor for the changes we endure throughout our lives. The push and pull of when to hang on, when to let go, when to enter a new season.

Painting is 4½”x6½”. White mat takes it up to 5"x7"- easy to pop in a frame. Acrylic paint on 140 lb. watercolor paper.
