"Hopscotch"

One subject I keep going back to is poppies. They were one of the first things I painted, and they continue to inspire me. Bright red, flowy blooms, a wildflower among so much green. 

But in this piece, I feel like it's the background that really pops. The eye bops around the canvas from little square to little square, taking you through the entire bouquet, enjoying every flower as you go. Hence its name. I love combining pink and red and find this painting so joyful.

5”x7”x1½” acrylic paint, white linework, and chalk pastel on gallery wrapped, heavy duty canvas. Finished with protective varnish. Edges are painted, and the back is outfitted with a sawtooth hanger, making your painting ready to hang.
